I am looking for a ELLINOR C L CLOSE
on the 1901 census she was living at
St George Hanover Sq, LONDON
We believe she ran a orphange where my friends father was placed.
she was born at
Peover Hall, Peover Ches. and would be about 35 in 1891

Just had a quickie look in the 1901 for your Ellinor Close of St Georges Hanover Square London. I was hoping for more address and an occupation, but niether it seem have been registered in the census.
So I grabed my CD's for London and thought maybe I could find her quite easily but the task is a bit big, if fact the area covered by St Georges Hanover Square includes approx 30 folks per page, 300 odd pages and 7 sets of pages RG13 84/85/86/87/89/90 up to about 22000 folk so unless anyone else can find her somehow you might have to pay for the details on the 1901.

I have just found a St Barnabas orphange in Bloomfied Place, New Bond Street in "St George Hanover Sq" RG13 87 page 31.
Checked every name, lot of them, but no sign of Ellinor Close or the Brocklebank/Brockelbank name....still looking
