Hello Sandy, Had a quick look at that address for you at Oldham Archives today..
1871. R10-4102 Folio 61 Page 34.
19 Mount Pleasant Street.Oldham.
James Schofield. 47 Roller Maker. B. Ashton.
Sarah A (wife) 37 Dress Maker. B. Bury.
Sarah A (dau) 17 Milliner. B. Oldham.
John W (son) 11 Scholar. B.Oldham.
Amelia (dau) 5 Scholar. B.Oldham.
Emma (dau) 2 B.Oldham.
-------------------------------------------------------------

The 1861 was a little different, think this might be the same James.

RG9-3020 Folio 17.
Mount Pleasant. Oldham.

James Schofield. 36 (Widwr) Roller Maker Employing 5 men and 2 boys.
B. Oldham.
Sarah Ann (servant )?? 7 B.Oldham.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Think the enumerator got that last one wrong, she's the same age for the eldest daughter on the 1871. Looks like your James was married twice..
Have the index for 61 and 71 for Schofield. So if you think this may not be yours i can do a check.
Regards
Pam. (from a wet and misty Oldham)

Sandy, are you still looking for either Albert or Amelia in any of the censuses? It looks as if you are still missing Albert Schofield and Amelia Harrop for the 1901...

Yes Margaret I am still researching them and, yes I would like to see them on the 1901 census. I am also trying to find John W SCHOFIELD, Albert and Amelia's brother, whom I have 'lost' after 1881 census.

Residing at 51, Eastbourne Road, Birkdale, in 1901

James Schofield, head, age 78, retired mechanic, born Ashton-under-Lyne
Sarah Ann Schofield, wife, age 68, born Bury
Albert Schofield, son, age 29, architect (own account), born Oldha

Residing at 99, Morris Street, Oldham above Town, in 1901
Amelia Harrop, head, age 35, widow, dressmaker (own account, at home), born Oldham
Annie Harrop, daughter, age 7, born Oldham

I am having little luck in finding John W. Schofield. There are around five possibilities in the 1891, three or four in the 1901, but none which are a really good match. There is one in the 1901 who is also living in Oldham above Town, though.

That's wonderful Margaret, and the first confirmation that wife Sarah A. is Sarah Ann, which leads me to believe that she was Sarah Ann BUTTERWORTH. Regarding John W. b 1860, he wasn't with the family in Birkdale in 1891, so there is a very good chance that he remained in Oldham when they moved.

I have no idea who Amelia's husband was. In 1891 she was with the family in Birkdale, but then obviously returned there, so I would imagine her husband was from Oldham.

I don't suppose you have the images of these census pages do you?

Thanks once again for your kind help,
Sandy
