I know my ancestor Richard Newel was living there in 1856 when he got married and also in 1863 when son Thomas is born. Would love to have proof of the family in 1871.

Richard Newel or Newell or Newall would be age approx 34 living with wife Mary, children Jane Ann 12, James 9, Thomas 8, Richard 1. There may be other children, possibly a Sarah.

Bakehouse Court, Tickle Street, Deansgate, Manchester or 19 Tickle Street

The courts were notrious slum dwellings I think. Tickle street does not exist now.

Suzanne

:D 8)

Came back off holiday to your reply notification - smashing. Particularly pleasing because of the inclusion of Sarah, whom I had suspicions of but no proof previously.

Thank you
