Can anybody help please?! My Grandmother's family lived in Manchester until 1880-ish. On 1881 Census they are in London but all children including a 2 year old were Manchester born. I know Thomas and Mary were married at the Parish Church of St. John, Manchester but I have no address. Is there any possibility of finding them in the 1871 Census? Their ages would be as follows:

Thomas WILLIAMS Head M Male 29 Denbigh, Wales Joiner
Mary WILLIAMS Wife M Female 31 Denbigh, Wales
Jane WILLIAMS Daur U Female 6 Manchester Fancy Box Maker
Mary WILLIAMS Daur Female 2 Manchester Scholar

They had another 3 children before moving South.

Any help would be gratefully received!

Thanks in advance.

Hazel

Hi Gram,
Is it still cold in Leigh?! It's really hot here now!!
Well, you've come up trumps again - thank you very much. You have found me a brother (John J. aged 4) to my Grandmother (born 1873) that I didn't know about - he didn't make it to London! Any chance of you finding a Death entry anywhere? They were in London by 1881 and last child born in Manchester was in 1879
Thanks again
Hazel

Hi again, can`t find any death records for John, but could he have been a bad lad? Found a Jno Williams age 14 born Manchester, described as a Reformatory boy.
The address given is Clarence,Eastham,Cheshire. Clarence must be the name of a boat as there are seaman instructors in attendance.
If you go to Familysearch.org and type PAPERA in the surname box it will take you the page for John.
P.S Leigh`s warm and wet,very wet.

Hi Gram,
This certainly sounds like it could be him, unfortunately there are so many Williams' about - not like my Goalens, they're much easier!!
Anyway thanks again for taking the trouble!
Bye for now,
Hazel
