I wish these were mine because;
1. They appear better off than most of my lot
2. These individuals are part of a 445 person family tree which I possess going back to about 1170 which I would dearly love to attach my own tree to, but don't believe I ever will

My post was a little confusing Im sorry
My Benjamin Heap may possibly be married to a Sarah
Mary (maiden surname Wearing) b abt 1841 is the wife of Herbert b abt 1837 (both in Manchester) and they were married in 1870

Thanks for your time
David

I have found Herbert HEAP in 1871. He is residing at an inn (unnamed) located at 30, St. Nicholas Street, in Lancaster. He is 28, married, a cabinet maker, born in Manchester.

Could this be Mary, residing at 30, Cuthbert Street, Newton:
Mary HEAP, wife, 27, cotton winder, born Manchester
Mary E. HEAP, dau, 9 months, born Manchester

That would have to be them Margaret!!

Herbert Heap is not a common name, the occupation cabinet maker is right as well. The age should be about 34 not 28, going on what he gave in later censuses..... but that sort of discrepancy is not unusual.

Mary Heap the age, birthplace and location are right. The daughter must have died early as she does not appear in later censuses.
(I think I have the Death reference for her in BMD 1873)
I assume they were living alone at that address?

I was hoping to catch them living with parents... oh well, maybe I will locate them in 1861 and get back another generation

Thanks for your help again
David

Dave, do you have Benjamin Heap in any census? What was his occupation on the marriage certificate for Herbert and Mary? Do you have any reason to believe that Benjamin may not have been in the country for the 1871 census?
