Hello Nadine, I have not yet found any HERBERTs or DUPRE/DUPREEs on Kitchen Street in Liverpool, but I have found a number of JONESs. My favorite is Winifred JONES, a leech dealer. Do you have any first names for any of these families? I don't believe I have finished looking at the whole of Kitchen street though.

Hi Margaret,

thanks for taking the time and trouble to look for me.
I am actually looking for Catherine Ann Elizabeth Herbert Dupre/Dupree, daughter of Thomas Dupre, a sailmaker, who I think was originally from the Manchester / Macclesfield area (perhaps son of Isaac Dupree my ancestor). I think Thomas Dupre(e) had married Elizabeth Herbert in Manchester, hence his daughter's long name!
Catherine married John Jones also a sailmaker, son of John Jones, a seaman, on 2nd Feb 1841, with the address as Kitchen Street, Liverpool.
One of the witnesses was S(?). Henry Herbert, perhaps a relative of Catherine.
Unfortunately I think John Jones must be a pretty common name!!!! At least he wasn't a leech dealer!!!! So glad some of these professions no longer exist!
Thanks again for your help, very appreciated,
all the best

There was a John Jones (age 50) and family on Kitchen Street, along with Eleanor, a younger Eleanor, and Sarah, but this John Jones was down as a labourer, so I don't think he's yours. I will keep looking for your Catherine Dupree, and I will also see if I can spot any John Jones who are in the business of making sails.
