Would someone please check this census. HO 107/519/14 folio 36 (could be 38). Name George Lockley age 30. I cannot decipher his trade or what the letter "I" means. Many thanks Moya (Australia)

Hi Moya, The Liverpool Census Index for 1841 shows George Lockley aged 30 as a Jny (Journeyman) shoemaker, in folio 36A. We don't understand about the "I" , there is a Y , meaning yes he was born in this county (Lancashire) as were all six other members of his family. Do you have all their details, if not let us know. Good Hunting, Heather and Gerry

Hello Heather & Gerry. Thank you for the info. What I thought was an "I" is probably a "J" for journeyman. Now I've got to find them on the 1851 census !! Regards Moya
