If sks has access to the 1841 census for the village of SHEPSHED in Leics I'd be really grateful if you could find THOMAS KNIGHT (age about 55) & his wife MARY (abt 50), also their GRANDDAUGHTER HANNAH (or ANN) KNIGHT. She would be about one or two years old in 1841.

I don't know who her parents were. In 1851 she was living with her grandparents in Brittania St (??) Shepshed. Thomas was a "seamer"?

THANKS
Anne

Thanks Margaret, I am slowly working my way through the 1841 census, but hadn't got as far as Leicestershire, so I really appreciate this, was it easy to find ? Hope you didn't spend too much time burning the midnight oil on my behalf !
