Hello,
If someone could please look up the HARLING's on the 1851 census of Chorley that would be fantastic!
They only appear on three folios in Chorley (HO 107/2263) ... Folios 096 (Water Street) and 279 & 280 (Cowling Bridge), but I think the ones I am after are in the Cowling Bridge area.
I am looking for two people ...
Christopher HARLING - he would have been about 26/27 at the time and should be unmarried. When he married in 1856, he was a Spinner living in Cowling Bridge.
James HARLING - he would have been born in the late 1790's/early 1800's. On Christopher's marriage certificate his occupation was an Auctioneer.
Christopher and wife Frances seem to have disappeared from the 1881 census and I beleive he was still alive in 1886 at his son's wedding (he was not listed as deceased).
I would love to know more about the family and if Christopher had any brothers and sisters.
Many thanks for your help in advance
Karen
