Hi Nora,

My Wife as asked me to ask you or anyone who reads this message to check on their 1881 Census if they can find out a family inwhich she found on the fiches for the 1881 Census in Retford they are :

Cumbrian Villa, Ordsall, Retford
John J Powell 48 head Monmouth
Sophia " " 40 wife Hereford
Harriett " " 15 dau Hereford

We have looked on our Set for 1881 Census and cannot find them, they were still there on the 1891.

I've checked both the National Index and the regional ones but can't find your Powells.
It may be that they were just missed off by accident.
The 1881 does contain mistakes
