Need Advice re census 1881

When I search I have come across places of residence as

example: Fulwood Workhouse
Fulwood Lancashire
and the person is listed as married but an inmate.
Can you tell me is this a Prison.
If so how do I find out any more details

Workhouses were institutions where destitute people were housed. There is an interesting website about them
